On Saturday, the second phase of the ascent of the Gyri Vasti main line will begin; the works between Bicske and Szrliget will be completed until the 9th of May, MV Zrt reported.

According to the announcement, the second phase of maintenance on the Budapest-Gyr-Hegyeshalom line affects the S10, S12 and G10 routes, the Savaria ICs in Szombathely and the InterCitys in Sopron. At this rate, the departure and arrival times of the majority of international trains, including railjets, will not change compared to the original, but the Kálmán Imre EuroNight, Dráva and Mura IC will run according to a modified schedule.

Passengers can find out about the details at www.mav.hu/egyesvonal, and the online timetable planner (Elvira, MÁV app) will recommend trains based on the modified timetable by selecting the appropriate date.

In the second stage of the renovation work, track and switch adjustments, bed replacement, rail tension release, and overhead line maintenance will be carried out between Bicske and Szárliget, among other things.

According to the company’s previous information, as a follow-up to last year’s renovation between Szi, Biatorbágy and Szárliget, track maintenance will be carried out on the Gyri line from mid-April to the beginning of July in several stages and at different sections. In the first phase, between Biatorbágy and Herceghalom, between Biatorbágy and Herceghalom, they established and adjusted the required actual temperature of the rails, regulated the tracks, replaced crushed stones, arranged terrain and bedding, and cleaned ditches, while train traffic was continuously ensured on the other track.
