Blikk: nine victims of the former director of the children’s home in Bicske received compensation

He was the director of the children’s home in Bicske, János V its victims filed compensation claims years ago with the institutions that maintained or supervised the home.

According to Blikk’s information, the victims settled with the state, so they received tens of millions of dollars out of court. According to the portal’s article, nine people received compensation, the victims did not receive the same amounts. The money was paid at different times, but they all accepted the settlement, the paper claims. The press department of the Ministry of the Interior wrote to Blikk that

The General Directorate of Social and Child Protection concluded an out-of-court settlement agreement with nine people, to whom it paid a total of HUF 154 million.

In the children’s home in Bicske, not only the boys, but also the girls were humiliated, beaten, and, where appropriate, sexually harassed – claims a young woman who was a ten-year resident of the institution run by János V., who was convicted of pedophilia. The former student told our newspaper not only what kind of trauma he experienced as a child, but also how he tries to process what happened.
