Budapest XVIII. Nagykörösi út, located in the district, next to commuters from the agglomeration, the XVIII. priority route for district residents as well. The pavement of the track has worn out over time and did not meet travel comfort requirements, so the client Budapest Capital XVIII. The Pestszentlőrinc-Pestszentimre Municipality decided to renovate the section between Eke utca and Dózsa György utca. HE-DO specialists took over the work area at the beginning of March, according to the information published on the website of the Hungarian construction company.
They report that the remaining work on the right-hand traffic lane on Nagykőrösi út has been completed in the meantime:
- after milling the right side of the road section into the profile
- local repair of the infrastructure followed,
- then replacing the edges,
- renewal of surface drainage elements,
- then demolishing the gate entrances and rebuilding them with a new turf or asphalt covering.
Finally, the entire road was reinforced with two layers of asphalt by HE-DO specialists, with a half-lane road closure, in addition to one-way traffic.

“We have also started the construction in the left-hand traffic lane: we are currently finished with milling the roadway profile, selecting local track structure replacement, unpacking and preparing the substructures. As the next work process, we will demolish and build the curbs on the model of the right side, we will strengthen the road with two layers, we will clean the ditch and build culverts for the drainage, and at the end we will install the temporary traffic technology”

According to the plans, the technical handover will begin in the second half of May 2024, and the renovated road section will soon be open to two-way traffic.
