Useful advice to avoid becoming a victim:

  • If possible, we always pay for the ordered item by cash on delivery.
  • If they buy from you, be suspicious if they ask for any other information besides your bank account number!
  • Don’t be fooled by the fact that the person intending to buy is sending a link to a mail order service! They certainly won’t ask for your personal bank details there!
  • If you receive a redirect link in a message, check that it is not a fake page! Better to exit and contact your bank through the usual channel!
  • Never give out your bank card data, three-digit security CVC code, PIN code, or online banking access data to strangers, either by phone, e-mail, or message!
  • Never install or download a program of unknown origin to your computer or phone, no matter who recommends it!
  • When paying by bank card online, do not enter your data on another site (e.g. merchant’s site)!
  • Do not start online banking transactions by clicking on links from unreliable sources or on unknown websites!

Within the framework of the Matrix Project, the police pays special attention to the detection of fraud committed online. Useful information, news and advice on the prevention of such crimes can be found on the KiberPajzs website.
