The trust in Oszkár Molnár has been unbroken in the past three and a half decades, but in Edelény, which is not free from atrocities, there will be a big change, because after 34 years as mayor, Molnár will no longer run in the elections this year, he will hand over the baton.

Mostly only in the national press in scandals (e.g. at the sörpázas bláché discovered by Ákos Hadházy), during floods, respectively in different conflicts the town of Edelény usually comes up, even though it is also one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in BAZ county. It is also famous for the fact that since 1990, the mayor Oszkár Molnár has been continuously and generally elected as the city manager. This series will surely end this year, Molnár will not run for the mayor’s seat again, nor will he consider himself a representative candidate.

The Edelény City Municipality announced this on social media. “He will not run in the June 9 election either as a candidate for mayor or as a representative,” Mayor Oszkár Molnár announced at the beginning of today’s board meeting.

The mayor thanked everyone who voted for him or not during his 22 years as mayor. In the same way, he expressed his gratitude to the residents of the region as a member of parliament for several terms.

Oszkár Molnár said: he does not turn his back on public life. In the current campaign, he will not support the mayoral candidate who last time called him a corrupt scumbag on Facebook, as well as the one whose partner constantly lied to him on social media. From this, every citizen of Edelweiss can already know who they can support as the mayoral candidate for the current election,” wrote the local government.
