The heated argument ended with life-saving surgery, but according to the defendant, the woman caused the injuries to herself. Yesterday, the evidentiary proceedings were concluded, and the multiple recidivist had the right to have the last word after the trial.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the man is guilty, charged with life-threatening bodily harm committed out of fear of love. According to the expert opinions prepared in the criminal trial, during the abuse, the victim was hit so hard that his liver ruptured. The hot knife caused burns and scars on his shoulder blade, thigh and genitals, while his vision was impaired by the gas spray. Renata escaped from the ground-floor apartment through the bedroom window, asked for help in a nearby tobacconist, the arriving policemen called an ambulance, and upon arriving at the hospital, she underwent life-saving surgery.

The prosecutor pointed out that the accused denied the whole thing, only confessing to pushing and arguing loudly. One medical expert’s opinion, on the other hand, describes that the burn mark on the shoulder blade could not have been caused by the woman, who no longer feared István B. during the witness interview, and then told what atrocities her partner had done to her. He tolerated all this without saying a word, so no one could hear. According to her, this was not the first time the man had raised his hand against her.

According to the defendant’s lawyer, the prosecution only bases the charge on indirect evidence, and there is no concrete evidence against B. István. – Renata’s confessions are contradictory, the victim is incredulous. During the investigation, he did not testify at first, then he stated that he had caused the injuries himself, and only later accused my client, he stated in his trial speech. None of them took the polygraph test.

The prosecution previously proposed a seven-year prison sentence. The sentence can range from 2 to 12 years in prison, as the man is a repeat offender and cannot be released on parole. The defense made a motion to acquit the defendant in the absence of crime and evidence.

B. István said with the right to the last word: – I have committed many sins in my life, which I do not deny. I admit that I am guilty, but I did not commit the crimes as charged.

The first-instance verdict will be handed down by the court on the second of May.
