Cruel: Several prison guards beat a handcuffed prisoner to death in Miskolc – They will be brought before a military court

Seven prison guards were brought before a military court. According to the accusation, a prisoner was severely beaten in the Miskolc prison, rtl.hu learned. An indictment from 2022 was discussed at the court, according to which seven guards of the Fazekas Street prison in Miskolc participated in and watched the abuse of a prisoner who broke the nose of one of the gunmen.

According to the document, the story is as follows: the prisoner called a doctor citing feeling unwell. A doctor and a prison guard entered the cell, where the prisoner had to be arrested. A fight broke out, the prisoner hit the prison guard, and their colleagues rushed to the cell. The inmates handcuffed him and took him to the medical room, where the guards beat the prisoner’s head against the wall, after he fell to the ground, they kicked the defenseless man. The prisoner suffered serious injuries.

Five people took part in the beating, a female prison guard and the captain in charge were only witnesses, but they did not report what happened to the prison management. The prosecutor requested a prison sentence of 6 years and 6 months for the guard who participated most actively in the beating, while the female prison guard who failed to report was asked for a suspended prison sentence. The defendants denied their guilt.
