“Today in Budapest, our activists collecting recommendations for the joint list and the joint mayor were attacked in an organized manner at 3 different locations, almost at the same time,” claims Klára Dobrev, leader of the DK’s European Parliament list.

In his Facebook post, he wrote that the attackers insulted him and Gergely Karácsony. According to Dobrev, “power today has crossed a line that only dictatorships are used to”. And he told Viktor Orbán: “it’s all in vain, you can’t stop us!”

Tímea Szabó, executive co-president of the Párbeszéd-Zöldek, said in a video posted on Facebook that opposition activists were attacked in Deák Square, Blaha Lujza Square and Békásmegyer in Budapest. All three locations

“men in black jackets went there and handed money to people who looked like alcoholics, who then started shouting, scolding Gergely Karácsony, Klára Dobrev and the opposition”.

According to Szabó, the activists working at the tents were also physically abused, the Deák Square tent had to be closed because all the activists were allegedly beaten there.

“We are sending a message to Fidesz that we have had enough of exactly this violence”

– said the executive co-chairman of Párbeszéd-Zöldek.
