The Balaton fisherman caught the carp in a row, and a total of ten were found. He did not enter any of them in the catch log. There were fish that he hid in his car. He was hit with a serious fish protection fine.
In another serious case, the competent fish management authority made its condemning decision against a Balaton fisherman – it is clear from the decision uploaded on the website of the Balatoni Halgazdoklaszi Nonprofit Zrt. (BHNp Zrt.).
TV, a resident of Cserszegtomaj, was fishing on Lake Balaton in the area of Vonyarcvashegy on March 2, and it went very well because he caught and kept ten carp, but he did not enter them in his catch log, the order reads.
Six of the carp were found hidden in different places in the greedy angler’s car.
The Zala County Fisheries Authority punished him with a HUF 485,000 fish protection fine and a 6-month ban from fishing.
If we divide the amount by the number of fish, we get that he will have to pay HUF 48,500 for one carp, which may make him wonder if it was worth it.
However, the deterrent force does not work for some, such as Cs. G., a resident of Balatonlelle, who last year received a fine of HUF 3,488,789 for a single violation of the rules and four poaching offenses, which was accompanied by a ban of 144 months, i.e. 12 years. Details HERE.
