As we reported, Index learned that Péter Magyar and his party, the Tisza Party, want to run not only in the European Parliament but also in the municipal elections.
According to our information, they will have mayoral candidates in three districts, and the name of Ervin Nagy has also been mentioned among the list leaders in the capital.
When asked by RTL Híradó, the actor said that the report was a hoax and a false statement.
I don’t want to run in municipal elections at all

After the publication of our article, Péter Magyar wrote on his social media page that he could not confirm the information about departures from the capital, as the decision had not yet been made. The vice-president of the Tisza Party added that they are also considering running on the capital and county lists.
According to former member of parliament András Schiffer, it was a logical step on Péter Magyar’s part to run not only in the European Parliament but also in the municipal elections. According to him, the vice president of the Tisza Party would have made a mistake if he did not join the fight in Budapest at all. In his opinion, the Tisza Party, “which replaces the previous opposition”, cannot afford not to show itself at least in the capital.
Alex Steimetz has not yet been invited by the Tisza Party
Alex Steimetz, who visited both Momentum and the Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party, also denied to RTL Hírado the suggestion that the XV. district as a candidate of Péter Magyar on June 9. According to the politician, he has not yet received a specific request from the Tisza Party, but if asked, he would gladly say yes as a representative candidate.
The 2019 local government election was won by the candidate of the Democratic Coalition, Angéla Cserdiné Németh, in Rákospalota. According to Balázs Barkóczi, the local parliamentary representative of the DK, as an opposition candidate, no one has a chance against Angéla Cserdiné Németh.
