The first KC-390 military transport aircraft produced for the Hungarian Armed Forces is being tested at the Kecskemét air base. After the tests, the plane will return to Brazil, and this year and next year, one KC-390 will arrive permanently in Kecskemét.
The KC-390 military transport aircraft was tested in Kecskemét. The plane is 35 meters wide and can fly at a speed of 800 km/h at an altitude of up to 8,000 meters. Its advantage is that it can transport large loads and deliver them to their destination with the help of a parachute.
“It is a multi-purpose aircraft. We can use it for cargo and troop transport, for search and rescue operations, for aerial refueling of other aircraft such as fighters, and even for refueling another KC-390 aircraft” said the Brazilian test pilot.
All conditions were met for testing the KC-390 in Kecskemét.

Róbert Mavronyi, the program manager of the Honvéd General Staff’s Skills Development Office, said:
“The testing consists of installing the equipment, since we’re talking about a radio, they test it at different frequencies to make sure the radio is working properly and that it doesn’t interfere with other equipment on the plane.”
The Hungarian Armed Forces do not yet have cargo planes similar to the KC-390.
“When this test is completed, these devices are installed and the aircraft is flown back to the factory for further production processes.” Viktor Langó, deputy commander of the 101st Aviation Brigade of the MH brave Dezső Szentgyörgyi, told the M1 staff.
According to the plans, the national defense will purchase two KC-390 aircraft, which are expected to arrive in Kecskemét in the fall.
