So far this season, the two teams have met three times, the green and whites won 11-7 in the Hungarian Cup semi-final, but in the regular season of the championship, they were only able to beat the Dunaújváros team by one goal both times. The bet was clearly on the home side, DFVE could wait for the match without any burden, but of course not giving up on the feat.

FTC – DFVE 17-10 (4-1, 4-3, 4-4, 5-2)

FTC: Neszmély-Vályi 2, Leimeter 2, Csabai Tóth 3, Pőcze 1, Gurisatti 2, Dömsödi 1. Substitutions: Kiss (goalkeeper), Máté 1, Farkas 2, Kuna 3, Bonca,

DFVE: Maczkó – Dobi 3, Horváth 1, Mahieu 1, Szabó, Garda 1, Kardos D. 1. Substitution: Jonkl, Somogyvári, Pál 1, Kardos L., Sümegi 2.

Vanda Vályi brought the ball as scheduled on the first swim, but we already knew her speed when she played in Dunaújváros and in the national team. Then Fradi immediately got to five meters, and Gurisatti placed the ball in the net of his parent club, 1-0. Fortunately, Dobi immediately equalized, and the toy slipped under Neszmély’s arm. In the continuation, FTC also punished this offensive error with a goal, 3-1.

The Hungarians got the first exhibition, Dobi shot in the center, but Neszmély was in his place. On the other side, the post helped Maczko, and then another Dunaújváros man advantage was missed. Bonca’s long shot was picked up by the visitors’ netminder, the referee’s whistle remained silent after a center pass, so Fradi could go for the three-goal advantage again, but after a good defense, DFVE scored a minus one, and the team gained the advantage again. Unfortunately, Szabó’s shot was blocked by Farkas. Then Dunaújváros got into the game for the fourth time, but this time the girls didn’t even get a shot because they blew on the counter. And the quarter had just passed when Kuna scored a huge goal from a distance, 4-1.

The second quarter started the same as the first. That is, Vályi brought the ball, and Dömsödi immediately won a penalty, which Gurisatti converted again, 5-1. We really hoped that the continuation would be different, but the people from Dunaújváros had to pull themselves together to make the match close. At first, they immediately defended a double penalty, Dominika Kardos found the post, and the defenders took the ball away during the replay. After Jonkl’s great tackle, Kardos D. finally scored from the wing, 5-2. The difference didn’t last long, because Máté’s clicked shot reduced the visitors’ deficit to four again. Fradi’s defense continued to excel, but Maczkó also caught Vályi’s kick from long range, and Farkas’ drop went wide. Mahieu was played in vain by Sümegi, but there was no decision, but Fradi left the ball in the attack. Garda took the ball out of Bonca’s hands in a great move, then Mahieu took a penalty, and in addition, Máté, one of the important players of Ferencváros, was kicked out of the game for good. Garda’s hand did not shake, 6-3.

And after another excellent DFVE defense, Dobi was also effective from the turn, so the opponent was already within sight, 6-4. The worse period of the home team was broken by Csabai Tóth, who sold the first man advantage of the match, 7-4. The visiting team and their fans, Kardos D., were charged with a missed five-meter penalty, but did not end with a goal or a penalty. Just a few seconds before the end of the quarter, FTC received a penalty, which Lajos Vad deservedly called Fodor Rajmund to account for a yellow card. And Leimeter restored the previous difference again, 8-4.

After the half-time change, Mahieu finally took advantage of a man advantage, to which Csabai Tóth and Farkas answered with goals halfway through the quarter, after 10-5, it would have taken a miracle for DFVE to turn the game around. However, we know that the girls were not made of such wood that they would give up on anything, a couple of good defenses and a great finish by Sümegi and Pál were enough for the meeting to become sharp again, 10-7. Moreover, one and a half minutes before the end, Sümegi won a man advantage, Lajos Vad asked for time, and he quickly took advantage of the opportunity, 10-8. Pőcze had a productive man advantage at a very important moment for Fradi, then two opportunities were missed by the guests, and finally Fradi’s last-second goal came again, and Kuna played to a door-to-door situation.

Unsurprisingly, in the last quarter, Vályi had the ball, and Fradi’s goal came from the first attack again, only this time from an advantage, with which Szabó scored, 13-8. Horváth scored a great goal in the goal, shooting over the wall, and thanks to Dobi, the deficit was only three again, and there were still four minutes left in the game – that is, there was still hope. But after that, unfortunately, DFVE’s opportunities were missed, nothing came together, Fradi was able to cope better, and in the end won with a significant advantage.

The continuation is on Saturday from 17:00 in Dunaújváros.
