The municipality would build a railway crossing on railway line 106 south of the airport, connecting roads would also be built in the area.
The necessary permits for the investment are available, but at the same time, the general assembly of the municipality had to vote on the creation of a cooperation agreement between the city and MÁV Zrt. for the infrastructure development to be carried out on the state-owned property. According to the contract, the railway company hands over the necessary area for the work, undertakes road management tasks for the municipality, and returns the railway crossing to MÁV for operation after its completion. (Debrecen–Sáránd–Nagykereki) development has come up several times in recent years.
On April 25, the general assembly in Debrecen made the necessary decisions for the creation of the cooperation agreement.
