At the beginning, the guests were in a more favorable position thanks to the points of Ádám Barócsi, only in the middle of the quarter did the hosts turn things around with a 9-point run (19-13), with Vágvölgyi’s great entry. In the continuation, the NAV team already chased BKK, but its momentum fell short at 36-30, but the two Vargás of Csaba caught the thread thoroughly and scattered the visitors before the break, gaining a confident advantage for the second half. Returning from the break, the capital city started better, but could not get closer than ten points. This was initially ensured by the effective attacking play of Zalán Hajdu and Varga, and later Fábián and Vodila. The final quarter followed a similar scenario, Sucov’s well-timed triples for the home team repeatedly thwarted the visitors’ attempts to catch up.
Vuk Pavlovic: – We played a very good first half, we defended well and thus managed to gain a bigger advantage, which we were able to use throughout the match. In the second half, we let it go a little in terms of concentration and decision-making, our defense slipped a few times, but luckily the team was able to withstand that today. I could rotate the players, everyone could contribute. However, we shouldn’t get complacent, a tough match awaits us on Saturday. We want to win away from home too!
