SZON – Kindergarten enrollment is just around the corner

There was a lot of children’s excitement at Zoltán Túróczy Evangelical Kindergarten. In the Búszem group, the children happily walked, jumped, and marched in the playground set up for Earth Day, and it seemed that they were having a great time. Choosing the right kindergarten is not such an easy task. Many parents wonder which institution will treat their child kindly and develop them in the right way? Which one is where they hold their hand or caress when they need it? Which is where a creative, inquisitive child will be allowed to continue on his way. Enrollment in kindergarten is already taking place, since according to the EMMI decree, this must be ensured between April 20 and May 20 throughout the country, but within this period the institutions can set a different day. Thus, for the 2024/25 school year, parents can enroll their child in the municipal kindergarten of their choice in Nyíregyháza on April 29, 30, and May 2. It is worthwhile to start looking for the right institution in time, as you can choose from church or private kindergartens.

Form

In the year in which the child turns three years old by August 31, the child must attend kindergarten classes for at least four hours a day from the beginning of the educational year. Therefore, for the 2024/2025 school year, children born between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021 must be enrolled. The kindergarten application form can be obtained at any kindergarten, or those maintained by the Nyíregyháza municipality can be downloaded from the website varoshaza.nyiregyhaza.hu. The completed application form together with the necessary attachments must be submitted to the institution indicated in the first place, or if the parent or guardian chooses the electronic application form, it must be sent to the institutions by e-mail. Parents who fail to do so, do not enroll their child in kindergarten in due time, are committing a violation of the rules. Of course, it is not only for this reason that it is good for the little ones to go to the community, but it is also essential for their proper development.

Cooperation

– In many places there is a lot of over-registration, but it cannot happen that a child does not get a kindergarten place. If the child is not admitted to the chosen institution, he must be admitted to the district kindergarten, even if the parents submitted the application there – explained Ágnes Kovácsné Mráz, head of the Túróczy Zoltán Evangelical Kindergarten. – You can apply for three places, it is worth starting your search in time. We cooperate not only with parents, but also with city and church kindergartens. During the admission process, we constantly coordinate the roster and data in order to find the best solution. Some people look up which one will be right for them when the child is 1 year old. The primary consideration is that it should be close to the place of residence or even the parent’s workplace, so that the child can get there comfortably. We also care about environmental protection, so it is good if as few people use cars as possible. If Christian values ​​are important to parents, all historic churches already have kindergartens. We take care of the talents, we pay attention to the little germs of ability, what makes our kindergarten unique, because every little one has strengths and weaknesses, which we obviously want to develop together with the parents. We have, for example, sensory gymnastics, folk dance, ballet, English language, crafts and storytelling, soccer: all of these help the child’s talent to develop, said the master pedagogue, and he noted that every kindergarten has its own educational program, which meets the needs of the parents and the child. must be selected.

A conscious choice

As we learned, it’s worth visiting the open days with your children, because they can take a close look at the kindergarten groups, the infrastructural backgrounds, you can talk to the kindergarten teachers and heads of institutions, and you can ask questions that might not be answered on the kindergarten’s website or social media pages. the answer. It is also worth getting information on these online platforms, as the programs, the spirit of the institution, and the community-building events also significantly increase the popularity of a kindergarten.

– We also welcome parents, but they can come for information not only at the open day, but also at an agreed time. We are happy to talk to them, and they can even indicate on the application form that they would like to attend this kindergarten. These can be completed even at the age of 1-2 years, so the head of the institution can plan in advance with the number of staff, and the family is more secure. Church kindergartens do not have a district, so we accept children from the whole city, no matter what denomination they belong to. Religious education is based on the guidelines of the Lutheran Church, but with an ecumenical spirit – explained the head of the kindergarten and explained: in February and March, most people go to see the institutions, talk to the leaders, and peek into the groups. Every parent wants their child to go to a nice and good place, to a professionally high-quality kindergarten.

The director of the institution concerned will make a decision on the admission of children within 30 days of the last day of application, and will notify the parent in writing. In case of rejection of the application for admission, the child’s parent or legal representative may submit a legal remedy request within 15 days after receiving the notification.

Dóra Gazzag knows from the first minute which institution she wants to send her daughter to. – In April, we started going to open days. When choosing the right kindergarten, our first main consideration was that it should be a homogeneous group, and the second was that it should either be close to our workplace or our apartment. It was important that the kindergarten teacher was sympathetic and that the group was well equipped. You can select a maximum of three kindergartens when applying, so we visited the two most pleasant ones, plus one because it is the regional one. This is how we set up the order. My experience at the open days was very good, even though there were many of us, they were kind to everyone in the kindergartens and tried to answer all our questions – explained Dóra Gazdag, and added: they were able to get to know several groups and the buildings at the same time.
