It happened a month ago that serious ambulance accident, which caused one of the traffic lights on Tatán Ady Endre út to fall. Although the pole was soon restored, the lights have been flashing yellow ever since. Anyone who knows the area and drives there knows that it is difficult and dangerous to turn onto Ady Endré from Erzsébet tér. On the one hand, it is difficult to see to the left, and on the other hand, cars are constantly coming on the busy road. But there are also two pedestrian crossings at the intersection, where the traffic lights are also not working now.

Kemma.hu contacted the operator of the traffic lights Magyar Közút Zrt.-t when the lights will be back on. According to their answer, following the accident at the intersection, the traffic control equipment was significantly damaged and became inoperable. The material damage is significant, the replacement of all the affected equipment and the large support column will cost a total of about HUF 4 million.
The rescue accident caused serious damage
– The involvement of an external specialist company was necessary for the extensive failure. The detailed damage assessment was carried out, but since this is not a simple troubleshooting and special equipment had to be purchased again, the turnaround time of the processes was also longer. If the weather is also suitable, then according to our plans until next week (for the end of April-May – the ed.) the works can also start, from then on they can be completed within 2-3 days – they wrote in their answer.
They added: in the meantime, they ask for the patience and understanding of road users. They also drew attention to the fact that until the traffic lights are in operation at the junction, the posted signs and KRESZ rules are still valid, so by following them, the traffic participants can use the intersection safely.
