In 2019, the management of the Monostori Fortress thought big about why this huge, 70-hectare area could not be used even more and attract the younger generation to the walls of the Komárom fortress. And how else could this age group be addressed than with music. It was launched in 2019 Fort Fest Open Up!, namely with a timing so that everyone can start the festival season in the fortress. This year’s date also really precedes the big summer noise, more than a month before the big march, May 3-5. will be held for the 4th time between the gigantic walls of the Monostori Fortress in Komárom Fortress Fest Open Up! light music festival.
Since the festival season begins in the fortress, Károly Horváth, Charlie, will start this year’s Charlie77 tour with us on Friday at 7 p.m. He will be followed on the big stage by the eternally young couple György Korda and Balázs Klári, who will be warming up for their May 11 Budapest Arena concert on the Fortress Fest stage. The evening will be closed by the very honest, outspoken, multi-talented Marci Szirmai, alias Induló Pogány. Its unique organ and the harsh reality of its lyrics guarantee an outlaw closing of the first day.
On May 4, Barbara Schoblocher, the star finalist in Sztárban, will start the program with the Blahalouisiana band, and then, encouraged by last year’s great success, Robi Szikora and R-Go will bring the chickadee feeling to the fortress this year. And from 9 in the evening, the Kowás, or Kowalsky and Vega, will strum their electric guitars and rock ‘n roll will begin, much to the delight of the festival-goers. The Saturday day is closed by the formation of BSW. Meklód and Gaben spare no printing paper to write into the night, and then hand over the stage to Rádió1’s dj of the year Regán Lili. Lili is guaranteed to stir such energy that even the more tired audience starts to feel the beats in their guts again.
On May 5th, the New Level Empire formation will start, and in their songs, they mostly combine acoustic foundations close to rock music with quality dance music. Then comes Márton Juhász, alias Dzúdló, who plays pop music mixed with trap elements at ErődFest Open Up! On to the big stage. With its special musical world and stage technique, it creates an unforgettable atmosphere within the walls of the already unforgettable Monostori Fortress. And the only music festival in Komárom is closed by the Tankcsapda, which is about to go home, starting at 9 p.m., and it is no coincidence that they return to the fortress, as the sight, the atmosphere and the sound reflected from the historic walls simply impressed the Lukács.
