“There is no more joyful moment in the life of a university lecturer and leader than when the biggest hall of our university is full of young people. Then we can feel that our work has meaning and that the University of Miskolc has a future, as a result of which the economy of the county, including the chemical industry, has a future,” he said in his opening speech Zita Horváthrector of the University of Miskolc.

He pointed out that Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county is the largest chemical industry center in the country, which can only be maintained if the supply of specialists is continuously ensured. For this, there is a full-time bachelor’s degree in chemical industry in Miskolc, a correspondence course in Kazincbarcik, there is a master’s degree and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics can specialize in chemical machinery.

“Today is about showing the attractive, practical side and beauties of the chemical industry. As a result, I will later be able to welcome as many young people as possible to one of our courses at the opening of the school year. The aim of the University of Miskolc, which strives to impart the highest quality professional knowledge, is for young people to find their prosperity in this city and county. They should not have to go to Budapest, Transdanubia, or abroad, but find a long-term perspective for a good salary at the companies here,” explained the rector.
