It is a Miskolc tradition that May 11, Miskolc on the occasion of his holiday, the city’s fountains are put into operation. This has also happened in recent years, and the operator plans to do the same this year Miskolci Városgazda Nonprofit Kft.

This year – if everything goes well – there will be two more fountains in Miskolc compared to last year.
The newest fountain is being built
Sample boon.hu reported about it in detail, in recent days, work has begun in the Győri gate, around the Emberpár statue. As part of a HUF 15 million investment, the former fountain in the vicinity of the pair of statues will be reconstructed at the expense of the city representatives’ development fund. The previous, worn-out pool area is separated, and a new fountain is created in the remaining space around the composition, like the one – in a larger form – for example in II. It is on Pope János Pál tér or Erzsébet tér.

As part of the project, the new infrastructure will be built (new electric line, new water line, sewage line replacement, pump installation, electrical cabinet installation). The paving around the fountain will also be replaced and ornamental plants will be planted as part of the space reconstruction. The pool of the former fountain will become a flower garden – following the traditions of the flowery Győr Gate. For now, it is difficult to predict when the work will be completed, i.e. when the fountain can start operating.
