After November 2022, you can use postal services in Gerla again from Thursday. As is known, a year and a half ago Magyar Posta closed a total of six branches in Békéscsaba, including Gerla. However, thanks to a postal partner program, it will once again be possible to send letters, packages, pay checks or withdraw cash in the district.
At Wednesday’s briefing on the start of the postal service, the mayor of Békéscsaba said that after the post office closures, he personally consulted with the company’s managers and urged that the service be started at least in Gerlá, Mezőmegyer and the Lencsés housing estate, as well as in Jamina. Peter Szarvas he noted that the municipality would have been willing to sacrifice financially for this. At the same time, at the beginning of April, the service was finally restored in Jamina thanks to the postal partner program and a local contractor, and from Thursday the same thing will happen in Gerlán. In the district, it will be possible to handle the most important postal matters in a general store.
– On the part of the municipality, when we found out about the entrepreneur’s intentions, we assessed the possibilities, we saw that it was a routine retail business, so I issued a supportive opinion as mayor and the preparations started, the postal service will start in Gerla from Thursday – he emphasized.
He has been running the general store as an individual entrepreneur for 10 years Zsuzsanna Jakab he pointed out, a year and a half ago there was a big problem in the district that the post office was closed, so he thought that if possible, he would expand his range of activities.
– The post office gave the nod in the first round, then negotiations with them lasted for months, then we had to complete a course and pass an exam, while the mayor of the city also approved the start of the service – he said, and then added that check deposits, cash withdrawals and deposits, sending and receiving packages , and phone charging can also be arranged in the convenience store.
He was there at the announcement András Kiszely also, who, according to the mayor, played an important role in the resumption of postal services in Gerla, as he helped Zsuzsanna Jakab a lot in establishing the conditions and encouraged her to enter the activity, which until now had been treated as a state monopoly.
The postal services of the general store in Gerla can be used from April 25 in Pacsirta utca, every weekday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
