On May 1st, the Mozdulj Ekecs Civic Association and the Nagymegyeri Running Club jointly organize a charity run and a family sports day in Ekecs.
“We invite you to a May Day where charity meets the joy of movement. The day starts with a run, which we offer to Kristóf, a nice young resident of our village. The cheerful little boy has been under constant hospital treatment for almost a year. We cannot help the physical and mental struggle, but we can contribute to its treatment. With all the entry fees and the support received during the day, we want to ease the financial difficulties they face,” reads the announcement sent to our editors.
As they write, Kristóf is a 13-year-old teenager with a nun’s beard, whose ordeal began in February 2023, with an unsuspected leg pain. After countless medical examinations, the devastating results of the histology arrived on June 20, 2023, confirming Ewing’s sarcoma (malignant bone cancer) in the always active and cheerful boy. Kristóf has been under permanent hospital treatment in Bratislava for almost a year. His mother, showing great fortitude, supports him day and night. Kristóf has successfully completed the operation, but he still has a long way to go before he fully recovers.
He is currently on his 14th chemotherapy treatment. The organizers will donate the amount raised during the charity run to further therapies and the boy’s medical treatment.

The entry fee for the run is 4 euros for children and 8 euros for adults (or more, depending on the offer). The participation is at the link below can be announced in advance or on the morning of the event from 8:30 to 9:15.

9:30 start
Adult distance: The distance is 4-5 km
The children run on the running track, depending on their age group:
1-2. grade – 1 round
3-4. grade – 2 rounds
5-6. grade – 3 rounds
7-9. grade – 4 rounds
All children receive a runner’s medal, the first three finishers for adults receive a medal. After the run, the family skills tasks will begin, the tasks will have to be completed at 6 stations. No matter how many members the family has, the point is that every member participates in a skill task at least once. It is to apply at the link below and can be on site.
After the skills tasks, Denisa Kéri will be greeted with her musical, interactive children’s show, and then we will decorate the May tree together with the children, while the Ekecsi Folk Song will greet her with a bouquet of Nitra songs. We close the program with a dynamic Zumba presentation.
Before, after and during, we await the guests with delicious food and drinks, and the children with bouncy castles. During the duration of the program, you can capture unforgettable moments in the photo booth on display. During the event, DJ Matyi provides the floor dance. (Use of the photo booth is free for active participants in the event, runners and competitors, 1 euro per photo for others. The price of cooked food is an honorarium, and pancakes will be 1 euro.)
