The police launched an investigation against an unknown suspect on XXIII. district’s Török Flóris Primary School due to the mass sickness that occurred on Wednesday morning, before which a pungent smell permeated the building – the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) announced to MTI on Wednesday.

The communication department of the BRFK said that due to what happened in the institution, the BRFK XX. and XXIII. The district police station launched an investigation against an unknown suspect on suspicion of reckless endangerment committed in the course of employment.

They added: the purpose of the procedure involving disaster management specialists is to clarify exactly what happened, what caused the pungent smell, and whether there was an omission on anyone’s part.

According to the previous announcement of the disaster management, the elementary school in Dinnyehgyi district had to be evacuated on Wednesday morning because the people staying there smelled a pungent smell of gas, which caused several people to complain of feeling sick.

The disaster prevention mobile laboratory carried out measurements, according to the results of which the presence of dangerous substances could not be detected in the air.

According to MTI, 70 children at the Török Flóris Primary School in Dinnyhegyi közi complained of feeling unwell, and the ambulances that arrived at the scene took care of them.

Pál Győrfi told MTI by phone that ten ambulances were called to the scene, and according to primary information, none of the children were in a serious condition, and his colleagues did not find any “serious” injuries.
