The Csaba dealer was sentenced to five years in prison

--

According to the facts, the Csaba dealer ordered various drugs from the so-called dark web in order to sell them. Sometimes he gave drugs to his partner, and three times he sold cocaine in a food supplement store in Békéscsaba. In the summer of 2019, the National Tax and Customs Administration seized a letter addressed to him after the drug-detecting dog sniffed out the pills in it. At the end of 2021, the police confiscated previously acquired drugs in the store and in the man’s apartment – in significant quantities – as well as zip-lock bags and scales. The man not only distributed, but also consumed the drug.

The prosecution recommended a five-year prison term

The man was charged with drug trafficking at the Békés County Prosecutor’s Office. The prosecutor’s office suggested that if the accused admits to his actions on Tuesday, at the preparatory session held at the Gyula Court, then he should be sentenced to five years in prison and, among other things, pay the criminal costs incurred so far, which amount to HUF 2.5 million.

The accused admitted his act

The 35-year-old man from Kondorosi-Békéscsaba admitted his actions. He said: between 2015 and 2017, he gave cocaine to his partner on several occasions. Between 2017 and 2021, he repeatedly ordered various drugs – amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and LSD – from the dark web. In 2019, he sold cocaine to a man on three occasions – twice one gram, once two grams – for a total of HUF 100,000. In the summer of 2019, a shipment containing pills was seized.

Not an addict, but an addict

The man added that at the end of 2021, the police seized various substances at the supplement store and at his apartment, which he stored in these places in order to then sell them; the police also found bags and scales. When he was disconnected, drugs were also found in his clothes, and it was shown that he had consumed drugs in his urine. He emphasized that he is not a drug addict, but he has developed an addiction.

The Csaba dealer accepted the consequences of his actions

Earlier, I partly admitted my responsibility, then I avoided it, said the man. The accused added that he attends drug prevention sessions behind bars and that rehabilitation helped him to recognize. In addition, his parents taught him that he should take responsibility. He believes that he has caused them a lot of pain and suffering with his actions in the past period. He said in a hushed voice: he wants to face his actions and accept the consequences. He regrets that he used drugs, distances himself from the behavior that characterized him before, and wants to be a better son to his parents.

He was sentenced to five years in prison

At the preparatory meeting, Dr. Judge Anita Borombós accepted the defendant’s guilty plea. He added that the man’s testimony was clear, he admitted that he handed over drugs, that he acquired drugs in order to sell them, and that he also consumed them.

At the Gyula District Court, the defendant was finally found guilty of drug trafficking, and therefore sentenced to five years in prison, banned from practicing public affairs for five years, and ordered to confiscate assets up to HUF 100,000. In addition, he was ordered to pay the criminal costs incurred during the procedure. The decision is final.
