Márton Joób, accused of budget fraud, nominates his wife and one of his daughters as municipal representatives.

Although Márton Joób Accused of HUF 271 million budget fraud – and for that reason he was previously expelled from the opposition faction -, he is now running as a mayoral candidate László Botka against in Szeged.

On Tuesday, the politician presented his candidates, among whom are Joób’s wife and daughter, as well as the vice president of Fidesz in Szeged appointed last year, reports Telex. The accused Joób is nominated for mayor by the Szögedi Citizens’ Association.

He attended the candidate presentation on Tuesday Kata Chovaneczwhom in September, a Csaba Bartók at the reshuffle following the resignation of the constituency Fidesz president, he was elected vice president of the local Fidesz. It became clear a few days ago that he was not among the Fidesz candidates in the municipal election, and now it has become clear why he remained active in local public life. Márton Joób was formerly an ally of Szeged mayor László Botka as a member of the MSZP, but he was expelled from the faction. The politician is accused of fraud of 271 million forints. According to the indictment, a criminal organization operating in four counties was created in order to keep the company involved in the publication and distribution of leaflets on the market. According to the prosecutor’s office, they did not pay taxes properly, issued and received fictitious invoices, and barely paid contributions for their employees.

The prosecution requested a nine-year prison sentence for Márton Joób, the first-rate defendant, but the representative still insists on his innocence.
