The Zala County Prosecutor General’s Office brought charges of murder for profit and with particular cruelty against a 36-year-old man and his 19-year-old girlfriend, who killed their acquaintance and then stole his valuables and car last January.
According to the statement of the General Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, the man with multiple criminal records and his girlfriend were related to the 65-year-old man, and visited his house several times in Eszteregnyen, a settlement near Nagykanizsa – according to previous information from the police. The man thought that there might be a lot of money in the bank account of their chosen victim, so they decided to lure him out to the yard one night, where he would beat him up and then obtain his bank card information by force.
Arriving at the house, the man turned off the electric clock in order to lure the victim to the yard due to the power outage, while his girlfriend watched the area in the blanket of a log.
When the victim stepped out into the yard, his attacker hit him in the head with an eighty-centimeter metal pipe and continued to beat him on the ground.
The two perpetrators dragged their already helpless victim into the house together, where the man stabbed him to death with a kitchen knife, while the woman searched for valuables in the apartment. They then took the deceased’s valuables and took his car from the garage, with which they traveled to Baranya county the next morning to an acquaintance, through whom they tried to sell the vehicle.
The Zala County Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the man and woman under arrest at the Zalaegerszeg District Court for the crime of multiple homicide.
