On March 7, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the VIII. This year’s first exhibition of the district progressive Bura Gallery, presenting the works of four young Roma women artists. “The artists come from different fields and touch on different aspects of the female and Roma narrative, their common set, which is even more missing from contemporary social and artistic discourses.” – says curator Kata Oltai about the concept of the exhibition. The exhibition can be viewed from Thursday to Saturday, between 15:00 and 19:00, until April 26.

From masters to experiences – Stories of the Castle Bazaar // Castle Bazaar (until the beginning of June)

The Várkert Bazaar has been a defining part of the capital’s Danube panorama for more than a hundred years. It was completed between 1875 and 1883 based on the designs of Miklós Ybl, the outstanding Hungarian architect of the time. Its implementation marked the beginning of the expansion of the former Royal Palace, as well as the first significant success of the architectural development of modern-day Budapest. The exhibition sheds light on how Miklós Ybl won the leadership of the large-scale construction and who among the famous painters and sculptors of the time worked in the studios of the Várkert Bazaar. Archive images also tell the story of what happened to the building complex during World War II. during World War II, during the siege of Budapest.
