The Hungarian Red Cross organized a first-aid competition for schoolchildren on April 23, at the Professional Cultural Center in Kiskunfélegyház. Both elementary and high school students, who have been preparing for the competition for months with professional help, could apply for the event.

– We held the Kiskunfélegyház round of the 52nd ascending system national first aid competition, which will continue on May 8, in Baja, with the county round, and on the second weekend of September, in Kecskemét, with the national competition. Now the upper class of the elementary school and high school students competed with each other. We have specially prepared tasks for students that can occur in real life. For example, a burn injury had to be treated, a broken arm recorded, and we also modeled suffocation due to swallowing. In addition to the assessment of practical knowledge, they also had to complete a series of tests, in which, among other things, we asked about the process and consequences of treating an accident.

At the six competition locations, two paramedics each examined the children, who were strictly scored. From these points, the final result was added up, based on which the team named Fearless Five of Móra Ferenc High School was the most successful in the high school category. They were followed by the Cadets I and II of the Kossuth Lajos Vocational Training School and College of the Kiskunhalas Vocational Training Center on the imaginary podium. Among the primary school students, the MFG community of the sixth grade of Móra Ferenc High School came first, second was the Mancsőrját team of Dózsa György Primary School, and third was the Constantinum Catholic Kindergarten, Primary School, High School, Technikum, Collegium Kicsik formation – Andrea Lipóthné Komjáti told our newspaper. director of the Bács-Kiskun County Organization of the Hungarian Red Cross.

The organizers express their gratitude to Félegyházi Pékség Kft. for offering the pastries.
