During the day on Wednesday, a cyclone will pass over us, causing rain, showers, and even thunderstorms in more and more places from the south. In the second half of the week, the atmosphere above us gradually calms down, the tendency for precipitation decreases, and the weather warms up.

The sky will be overcast for the most part, but during the day in the Alföld, and from the afternoon in Borsod as well, the clouds will break, thin, and accumulate, reports HungaroMet.

During the day, the rain is increasingly limited to the northern and northwestern half of the country, while there may also be thunderstorms in the Great Plain. The westerly wind will strengthen in several places, there may even be a gust of wind in the vicinity of a thunderstorm. The highest daytime temperature in Transdanubia, around Budapest and in the north is between 7 and 13 degrees, and in the Alföld between 12 and 19 degrees. By late evening, the air will cool down between 4 and 10 degrees.

In the evening, cloudiness will decrease over a large area, but smaller cloudy areas may remain. Even in the evening, it may rain in fewer and fewer places, later the precipitation will stop everywhere. The westerly wind may be accompanied by strong gusts in places.

The lowest night temperature is usually between 1 and 6 degrees, but in a few places there may be light frost.


From the precipitation system of the cyclone twisting towards us from the south, rain is expected all over the country, lasting rain in several places. In the northwestern part of the country, mainly in the northwestern and western parts of Transdanubia and in the area of ​​the Northern Central Mountains, as well as in the northern half of Pest County, the amount of this can reach and exceed 20-25 mm, and in the vicinity of the western border up to 30 mm too.

From the afternoon, the precipitation zone causing persistent rain weakens and then leaves our country.


Thunderstorms may form in the Alföld and the Tiszántúl, (less likely in the northeast) from the afternoon. In some places, especially in the southeast and at the eastern border, more intense thunderstorms may develop, which may be accompanied by gale-force winds, small grains of ice, and locally more intense precipitation.
