A new chapter is opening in the development of the logistics field, thanks to the strategic cooperation agreement between the University of Miskolc and East-West Intermodal Logistica Szolgáltató Zrt. (EWG).

The sector can develop

The cooperation is an exemplary initiative that promotes the high-level training of logistics specialists and contributes to the development of the logistics sector in Hungary.

Pursuant to the agreement, the University of Miskolc and Europe’s largest and most modern land intermodal terminal, the East-West Gate in Lunsklitke, work together to modernize the training of logistics professionals, which includes, among other things, the development of new study materials, guest lectures, practical placements, and the provision of thesis and diploma project topics, it includes the creation of a university process simulation lab and the establishment of a student scholarship.

In connection with the agreement, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Miskolc, Prof. Dr. Péter Szűcs highlighted: “this cooperation is a huge step in the integration of logistics education and practical training. We are proud to stand by the East-West Gate and prepare our students for the challenges of the future together”.

János Tálosi, CEO of East-West Gate, added: “we feel responsible for the development of the region, for securing the future of the people living here. That is why we support young people to find training courses that provide competitive theoretical and practical knowledge locally. We have been working together with the University of Miskolc on this for years, and now we are expanding our cooperation. I am proud that our employees work at the East-West Gate terminal under world-class conditions and with the most modern technologies. We are happy to share our knowledge, experience and results with the teachers and students of the University of Miskolc”.
