INTER TAN-KER Zrt. puts Hungary’s first Iveco Streetway buses on the market

--

In the last days of March, we reported on the expansion of Volánbusz’s local routes in Székesfehérvár, as part of which the public transport fleet of the former crowning city will be increased by six more buses. Two of them are owned by Volánbusz, while the remaining four cars will be operated by INTER TAN-KER Zrt. (ITK) as a subcontractor. Thanks to the Debrecen company, we can welcome a new type of bus to Hungary.

INTER TAN-KER Zrt., a member of the ITK Holding group, which is interested in the production, sale and operation of buses, is no longer an unknown service provider in Székesfehérvár, where since 2021, as a subcontractor of Volánbusz, it currently operates two MAN Lion’s City GL (A23) and three Mercedes-Benz Conecto G articulated buses. also operates eight ITE REFORM 500 HP buses built on Mercedes-Benz self-propelled chassis with its own bodywork. In order to implement the route extensions mentioned in the introduction, ITK concluded a new three-year service contract with Volánbus, which will be performed with a total of four single-engine diesel buses – two brand new and two used cars. It is a novelty that instead of the previously preferred Mercedes-Benz models, the company chose Iveco Bus products this time.

In order to fulfill the new order recently won in Székesfehérvár, ITK purchased two brand new Iveco Streetway city buses with a view to developing and rejuvenating the vehicle fleet, and two more used Iveco Urbanways, which are in excellent technical and aesthetic condition, according to the service provider’s promise, in the second half of April. will arrive in the former coronation city. The first vehicles are also the first representatives in Hungary of the affordable urban-suburban model family with Turkish roots, introduced more than two and a half years ago by Iveco Bus. The Urbanway, which is one level higher on the manufacturer’s ladder, is also not an everyday sight here: despite the fact that it is considered quite common in several neighboring countries, so far in this country only one demonstration model has appeared in connection with occasional test runs and events.

In order to have the necessary number of vehicles until the two Urbanways are put into service, two additional buses from ITK’s own fleet were temporarily loaned to Székesfehérvár. To be precise, we are talking about the ITE REFORM 500 HP with registration numbers SVE-912 and SVE-927, which until now served the local public transport of Debrecen, as members of the 30-piece series that entered service in January 2022 at the county seat of Hajdúság in the very first phase of the comprehensive fleet replacement there . The temporary nature of these buses is shown by the fact that these buses will not be repainted in the characteristic white-blue-red fleet color of Székesfehérvár local flights, but will serve in their original silver metallic finish until the end of their short guest appearance.

The two Iveco Streetways currently in Székesfehérvár have been given the license plates AE LN-129 and AE LN-130, one of which can already be seen by the local traveling public on the city’s roads. The 12-meter-long, full-length, low-floor, 2-2-2 door buses have 30 seats (including two double seats), depending on the presence of wheelchair passengers, the number of standing seats is 48, or 47 according to the operator’s information. People with reduced mobility can access the passenger compartment via the manually operated ramp installed at the second door. The relatively thickly padded passenger seats are of the Kiel IDEO type, the priority seats are distinguished by upholstery in a different color (red instead of blue), this solution is more and more common in the west of us. The equipment also includes air conditioning, six USB charging sockets per vehicle, and a security camera system that monitors the passenger compartment and the surroundings of the doors. The buses are powered by a six-cylinder, 8,709 cm³, 310 horsepower (228 kW) Iveco Cursor 9 engine that meets the Euro 6 E environmental protection standard, and its torque of up to 1,300 Nm is transmitted to the rear wheels by a 4+1-speed Voith DIWA.6 automatic transmission.

The new vehicles were served by INTER TAN-KER Zrt. as a subcontractor 12Y, 14G, 17-and, 20-dig, 23-dig, 23E, 26-ancestor, 26A, 33-dig, 34-and, 37-and, 38-dig, 40-and, 41-and, 42and and 44as well as at night 912will be able to meet in Székesfehérvár on flight
