On Monday afternoon, the Miskolc Local Election Office (HVI) met to register the candidates who obtained the necessary number of recommendations after the collection of signatures that began on Saturday.
Recommendations can still be collected until May 3, and those who have already collected enough signatures for the upcoming municipal elections have not stopped either. A mayoral candidate can be recommended by the voters of the given settlement, and individual representatives must obtain sufficient support from the electoral district where they are running.
On Monday afternoon, the recommendation forms collected since Saturday were examined by the staff of the HVI, said the head of the office, who is the city clerk, dr. David Ignácz. After the data was checked, it was established that two mayoral candidates are already ready for the contest on June 9.
In addition to József Tóth-Szántai, who started on behalf of the Pont Mi Egyesület, supported by Fidesz and KDNP, dr. László Barkai managed to collect five hundred recommendations (the minimum number of recommendations must be collected by the candidate for mayor in settlements with more than 100,000 inhabitants), followed by the Democratic Coalition, the Hungarian Socialist Party, Párbeszéd – the Green Party, LMP – the Green Party of Hungary and the Local Patriots’ Democratic Association to support.
Twenty-six individual representative candidates were also registered. In their case, the number of signatures required is determined by the size of their district. An individual constituency representative candidate can be someone who is recommended as a candidate by at least 1% of the voters of the given constituency. This means about 60-70 signatures per district.
By Monday afternoon, the following candidates already had the necessary number of recommendations – the candidates of the Ponti Mi Association supported by the government parties in each constituency:
- Constituency 1: Dániel Klinga (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 2: Anikó Czinkné Sztán (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 3: Gábor Barta (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 4: Sándor Máté Berencsy (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 5: Zsuzsa Alavári (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP), Dénes Szarka (Függetlenek SZIVE, Jobbik, Momentum) and György Tibor Kiss (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Dialogue-Greens);
- Constituency 6: István Jánosné Kozma (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and Martin Vozár (Mi Hazánk Mozgalom);
- Constituency 7: Beatrix Ficzere (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and Zoltán Fodor (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Párbeszéd-Greens);
- Constituency 8: Erzsébet Kavecsánszki (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 9: Éva Matiscsák (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and Mihály Mokrai (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Párbeszéd-Greens);
- Constituency 10: Marianna Szécsényi (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and László Kun Szabolcs (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Párbeszéd-Greens);
- Constituency 11: Péter Molnár (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 12: András Hollósy (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and Gábor Simon (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Párbeszéd-Greens);
- Constituency 13: Mihály Deák-Bárdos (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 14: Gábor Bajusz (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 15: Csaba Sebestyén (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP) and Levente Bazin (DK, LMP-Greens, MSZP, Párbeszéd-Greens);
- Constituency 16: Dr. Zsaklin Osváthné Kobolák (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 17: Dr. Dávid Hojnyák (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP);
- Constituency 18: Márk Bodor (Pont Mi Egyesület, Fidesz, KDNP).
