According to the indictment, two men and a woman lived in a car parked in a parking lot in Köbány. In November 2021, the perpetrators started arguing with two men passing by the car, the other defendants in the case. The exchange of words soon turned into a push and a fight, writes the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of the Capital City.
The parties threatened each other with knives, metal pipes and hammers.
The perpetrators threw the devices at each other, but did not injure each other.
According to the statement, during the fight, one member of the group of three, a 31-year-old man, punched one of the members of the other group on the head, who fell to the ground and suffered life-threatening injuries.
The group of three hurriedly left the scene, but the other two men followed them, and in front of a restaurant, the companion of the man who fell earlier continued the fight. He threw a bottle at the other party, pushed one of them between the tables and chairs in front of the restaurant, and abused the woman as well. The conflict was ended by the arriving police.
The General Prosecutor’s Office charged the 31-year-old man with the crime of bodily harm causing danger to life, and the other defendants with the crime of disorderly conduct committed in a group, armed, as accomplices. It was proposed that the 31-year-old offender be sentenced to prison, and that one of the rioters, who has repeatedly relapsed, be sentenced to prison.
The other three defendants were asked to receive a prison sentence suspended for a probationary period. Currently, the 31-year-old man and two other defendants are serving their mandatory prison terms imposed in another case they added.
