150-200 thousand visually impaired people live in the country, 35 thousand of them are blind. In Somogy, 1,500-2,000 visually impaired people are registered, and 350 of them are members of the Somogy County Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired, 156 of whom live in Kaposvár. There are only four guide dogs in the entire county. The purpose of the event was to draw the attention of those concerned to the application, on the other hand, they tried to bring the city’s residents closer to the world of the visually impaired. It can take one to one and a half years before someone gets a guide dog if they meet the conditions, he answered our question Noble Miss Gabriella Kiss, the president of the association in Somogy. At the show Pinter Romeo the deputy mayor announced that signs will be placed in front of the hospital to help the blind find their way around. Sensitization stations were organized for Kaposvár high school students at the Nagypiak, so that they could experience how to navigate and find their way around without sight, even in such an ordinary situation as shopping.
