Békéscsabai KK will compete with Pénzügyőr SE for the 13th place in the NB I/B Green group of the men’s basketball, and with it for staying in. The first match of the duel until the second victory of one side will be held on Wednesday in the Lutheran sports hall.

The rival from Pest County can continue to fight for the 9th place, while the Csaba team has the fight to stay in. The opponent will be Pénzügyőr, which proved to be weaker against Eszterházy SC in Eger, also in a duel lasting three matches.

– We have to focus on our defense, especially in one-on-one situations. Pénzügyőr is a strong physical team, we have to play basketball with a lot of collisions, in which case our attack will be fine. Our team is motivated, we want to start the match with a win – he said Vuk Pavlovic head coach.

The two teams met twice in the regular season, Békéscsaba triumphed both times, 84-76 at home and 68-62 away. The first match of the fight to avoid relegation starts on Wednesday at 19:30 in the Lutheran sports hall, the second match will be held on Saturday at 19:00 in the capital. If the score is tied after two matches, the last, third match will be played again in Békéscsaba on May 1 from 6:30 p.m.
