“I just wanted to scare him with the knife”, defended the woman who almost killed her husband who was hiding the drink

A woman in Szigethalm almost killed her sleeping husband because he refused to give her more alcohol and kept the drink away from her. The Pest County Prosecutor General’s Office is bringing the woman to court for attempted homicide by a person unable to defend herself.

József Levente Nisóczi, the spokesperson of the Pest County Prosecutor’s Office told us about the case that they asked for a seven-year prison sentence and a seven-year ban from public affairs for the woman. To our question, he also said that the woman accused of the crime admitted to wounding her husband with a knife.

She claimed that they had been fighting and later she just wanted to threaten her husband with the knife

said the prosecutor.

According to the indictment, the perpetrator had been married to her husband for more than ten years. However, in the last five years, their relationship deteriorated, and divorce was discussed several times between them. They quarreled regularly, which was helped by the fact that neither of them disdained the drink.

On the ominous day, they had a fight in their home because the husband did not give the woman any more drinks, and he hid it from her in the house. During the argument, the woman threatened to kill the man and framed him. When the man went to sleep in the bedroom, the woman took a kitchen knife and stabbed her sleeping husband in the chest with it.

The man woke up to the stabbing, ran out of the house and asked the neighbor for help, who notified the ambulance and the police. The husband was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition. The prosecution requested that the woman serve seven years without parole.
