Bristol Myers Squibb announced in a statement that Massimiliano Magnelli was appointed the Hungarian CEO of the company. In his new role, Massimiliano leads the Hungarian subsidiary, at a time when the company’s product portfolio is expanding significantly, in order to offer even more patients a chance for recovery. Massimiliano has nearly twenty years of international professional experience in various industries, including consulting, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals. Before joining BMS, Massimiliano worked for several leading FMCG companies in the field of sales and marketing and brought several transformation projects to success, mainly in Europe, they said.

Massimiliano joined BMS in 2011 and held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing and sales, and was responsible for many product launches in various therapeutic areas. In 2017, he became a member of the management of BMS in Italy and, as head of the Strategy & Operations department, supported the acceleration of the company’s Commercial Excellence strategy in the Italian market.

In 2020, as Business Strategy & Operations Senior Director, he joined BMS’s newly created region, which included the markets of Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, Israel, India and Russia, and played a key role in the company’s commercial strategy, the outstanding growth focused on expanding the portfolio. Prior to his appointment as CEO, he held a similar position in a region comprising more than forty markets in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe.

Regarding his appointment, Massimiliano said: “I am very happy to be able to join the Hungarian subsidiary of Bristol Myers Squibb and to be a part of an extremely talented and committed team, members of which I had the pleasure of working with in my previous position in recent years. I am joining the Hungarian organization at such an exciting time, when our portfolio is becoming more diverse, and I am happy to strengthen our collaborations with all BMS partners, with whom we can work together for the main mission of BMS, to change the lives of patients through science. I am sure that with a holistic approach we can better support Hungary’s health care system, overcome challenges and achieve better health outcomes for the entire society,” the statement said.
