The case of the arms dealer gang was closed.

The police have closed the investigation into the case of the Slovak arms dealer gang, whose leader was arrested in his home in Rajka in the summer of 2022.

The gang leader Dusan S. 59 edged firearms, around 45,000 rounds of ammunition, 285 magazines, 13 silencers and more than seven and a half kilos of explosives were found in his house during the raid.

The investigators found out that the man and his wife have a Slovakian domestic gun license for quite a few weapons, but neither a European nor a Hungarian one. In addition, they found 19 weapons that he did not have a license for and that had been illegally converted into firearms.

In the international action, it was revealed that the Slovak weapons were bought by Stromans before the transformation, who only added their names to the business in exchange for a minimal consideration. They were named in the documentation, but they were no longer the real owners of the weapons.

It turned out that in three years, nearly 600 ineffective weapons were registered in the names of four men. After collecting all the evidence against them, an international operation was organized to capture them. Since one of them had been serving his legally binding prison sentence for three years in the Zzelizi penitentiary for another case, the police beat up three of his companions last April.

The highlight of the action is Jthe H. was his capture. The 47-year-old man lived in a two-story building in Rózsahegy, which originally functioned as a turning workshop, part of which he converted into a residence. The man stored the ineffective weapons there until they were converted into live firearms.

In the workshop, the investigators found 14 weapons, approx. 2,000 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 40 magazines, 29 silencers and 7 grenades were seized. The Slovak-Hungarian joint investigative team also arrested two more Slovak members. One in Rajka, the other in Bratislava. The weapons found on them were also confiscated.

The Győr unit of the NNI continues to investigate weapons, as their goal is to map the fate of the 600 weapons found in the hands of the criminal gang. It turned out that weapons reached Sweden, Spain, and South Africa as well. All of these can be linked to a crime.
