At the end of November, the robber from Miskolc noticed a woman on foot in the evening, went after her, tore her shoulder bag from her shoulder, but managed to get it only after a long tug.
The District Prosecutor’s Office of Miskolc brought charges against a man for the crime of robbery and other crimes, who tore off the bag hanging from the shoulder of a woman walking on foot and pulled it from the victim’s hand, which had fallen to the ground, until he finally got it. According to the indictment, at the end of November 2023, in the evening hours in Miskolc, the accused noticed a woman walking on foot. He went after her and tore her shoulder bag off her shoulder, but the victim held her back by his hand, so the accused tried to get it by pulling her several times.
He pulled the victim at least eight times, who fell to the ground first on his knees and then on his stomach the last time. The defendant was then able to snatch the bag from his hands and fled the scene. The bag contained a wallet, HUF 10,000 in cash, personal documents and a bank card.
As a result of the act, the victim suffered injuries that healed within eight days. The prosecutor’s office proposed a prison sentence and a ban from public affairs against the defendant with no criminal record, the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
