A good number of guests came from the surrounding area as well, as good friendship binds the retirement communities together. The event included musical and prose performances, a choir program and greetings. The mayor of the settlement, Béla Salamon, took part in the event and gave a short but affectionate greeting, but also present were Mrs. Angéla Lánginé, the mayor of Mezőszentgyörgy, József Szecsődi, the president of the Fejér County Association of Pensioners’ Organizations “Life for the Years”, Lepsény Municipality Representative members of its board, representatives of the partner civil organizations and institutions in Lepsény, as well as members of pensioners’ clubs from Enying, Kisláng and Mezőszentgyörgy, as well as the president of the Esthajnal Pensioners’ Club, Ferenc Dervalics, and the honorary president, László Orosz.

The head of the cultural institution, Krisztina Sütő, said – The Lepsényi Evening Pensioners’ Club was officially founded in 1988, but the community-building activities of the pensioners started years earlier. The first president of the club, József Langer, organized and united the membership, forging the Lepsény pensioners into a real community. Later, this task was taken over by László Mészöly and then by László Paál. In 2004, the membership voted for Katika Lászlón Orosz. Under his leadership, the club reached another milestone, becoming a registered NGO in 2011, thus opening up new opportunities for the association. In 2015, Miklós Berki followed in the footsteps of their predecessors for a short time, and then in 2016 Ferencné Gitta Dervalics continued the community-building activities. However, the club has not only a past, but also a present, thanks to today’s membership and management. The popular club has been operating for 36 years, on a weekly basis. In cooperation with other civil organizations of the village, they work to further develop our traditions, culture, and communities. The choir is almost as old as the club. It was founded by Aunt Sándorné Ági Hanga, then led it alternately with László Pál. Since 2007, Mrs. Övegesné Katalin Szalai has had this noble task. Since 2008, the choir’s permanent accompaniment is the Cirbolya zither band, which was formed with the aim of making the choir’s performances even more colorful. I personally have had the opportunity to follow the life of the club since 2002, as it is organically intertwined with the activities of the cultural center. Over the decades, in every situation, joy and sorrow, they have preserved their zest for life, their love for each other, their care, and their positive attitude. All of these keep the soul young and set us an example of belonging that we should and should follow. – The evening took place with dinner and music, in an informal and cheerful atmosphere, strengthening the already well-functioning and loving relationship between the retirement communities.
