According to the indictment, the local man – the defendant in the case – started following the victim on his way home from training in Jánoshalmá in the evening hours of March 8, 2024. Coming up from the railway underpass, the perpetrator approached the child, addressed him, then pulled out a knife and pressed it against the thumb of the victim’s right hand. Meanwhile, the defendant grabbed the phone in the victim’s hand with his other hand and shouted “give me the phone or I’ll poke you.”
The victim held her phone tightly with both hands, however, when the man cut one of her fingers with the knife, she was very scared and handed her mobile phone worth HUF 60,000 to her attacker, who ran away from the scene.
During the robbery, the victim suffered minor injuries that healed within eight days.
The police from Kiskunhalas identified the man within half an hour, arrested and detained him, and confiscated the stolen mobile phone from him, which was returned to the victim.
The prosecution accuses the man, who is currently under arrest, of the crime of armed robbery and proposes that he be sentenced to prison.
