The brother of the young woman who was blinded in both eyes by her former partner is preparing for a political career. Róbert Lakatos easily collected the nomination forms necessary to run in the local government and minority local government elections, so – if the regionally competent election commission declares them authentic – his name will also appear on the ballots on June 9. Given that Kemecse, a city with a population of 5,000, is also the district center, the local representative body has a total of eight members. Róbert wants to be included here as an independent representative, but he also wants to act as a minority representative in the next five years.

As the first local Roma graduate, I am intimately familiar with the problems that directly affect people. As a nurse and social worker, I have faced many tragedies. I am currently attending law school

Róbert told Bors. – Desperate parents whose school-aged children are addicted to designer drugs regularly ask me for help. These are deadly poisons, but unfortunately it is very difficult to stop their spread.

Criminals must be stopped, he stated and added: he also considers it important to help addicts.

– I think it is important to establish a social committee where we can provide social support for disadvantaged people, even with food and firewood. These seem like small things, but the majority of disadvantaged people live in the settlement. In the field of education, I consider it necessary to establish the Biztos Kezdet Children’s House and School. My long-term plan is to create a local high school – explained Róbert Lakatos, who set the goal of setting up a Youth Self-Government, the reopening and cultured operation of entertainment venues, as well as the reopening of the cinema.

Young people should be kept at home. Public safety must be strengthened by acquiring surveillance cameras, providing pedestrian crossings, and good street lighting. I consider it important to have a Roma Holocaust Memorial erected in our city, because remembrance contributes to our autonomy

– he explained his objectives.
