From April, the Budapest Transport Center will present itself with a long-awaited innovation. With the cooperation of Nemzeti Mobillátsáci Zrt., the company will be selling 10 collective tickets in the BudapestGO application from April 23. The product can be bought for HUF 4,000, just like paper-based tickets.

Redemption is only possible if all 10 coupons of the collective ticket package are intact, BKK announced on Tuesday.

How can you travel with a digital ticket?

In order for the 10-piece collective ticket to appear in BudapestGO, the application must first be updated. After purchase, the digital collective ticket must be validated outside the door of the vehicle when boarding, in the same way as individual tickets. Collective ticket coupons can be validated in several ways:

• With widget function: the product can be displayed on the phone’s home screen, so you don’t even need to enter the application. With the widget function, tickets can be validated with one click in the code scanning button
• With NFC validation: NFC stickers can be found on ticket validation devices at metro entrances and on surface vehicles, which can be touched in a single step and the moving image appears
• By scanning a code: within the application, by clicking on the validation button on the coupon of the 10-piece collection ticket, the option to scan the camera code will appear, and after scanning, the moving image will appear, showing that the ticket is already valid.

As it is written, only one 10-piece collection ticket can be purchased within the application at a time, but of course additional collection tickets can be purchased by starting a new purchase transaction. Tickets that have already been used are added to the used products after the 80-minute validity period expires.

Collective ticket coupons cannot be shared on other devices, however, if several passengers are traveling at the same time, it is possible to validate several coupons consecutively upon boarding. For convenient ticket validation, BKK recommends that all passengers travel with their own mobile phone ticket.

The nostalgia flights are coming

BKK also reported that, in addition to the digital collective tickets, the company is treating its customers to another novelty: from the first weekend of May until the end of October, nostalgia flights will be running in the capital, for which it will be possible to exchange tickets digitally in BudapestGO from April 23 for HUF 500 .

The cozy nostalgia flights will continue to run with vehicles from the last century, the nostalgia trams, trolleybuses and buses will run according to a separate schedule, the BKK will provide information on the details soon.
