There are only two weeks left until the final exams

Half a month and the 12th grade students reach a major milestone in their lives. This year’s written matriculation exams will begin soon.

This year, the first mandatory written exam in Hungarian language and literature will take place a little later than usual, on May 6, and although most students will be over their difficulties in the first week of the matriculation exams, some will take the exam even in mid-May. For example, if they graduate from chemistry, geography or some “rare” foreign language, say Italian.

At the same time, the series of written matriculation exams starts on May 3rd, and anyone who wants can take the exam in national language and literature at that time. After the graduation ceremonies (the institutions in Orosház all hold them on Saturday, May 4), starting from May 6, in the first week of May, they follow the usual sequence on consecutive days: Hungarian language and literature, mathematics, history, English language, German language.

This year’s graduation exam will be the first where, due to the 2020 National Core Curriculum, students will be able to give an account of their knowledge based on the new requirements, the education site eduline.hu wrote in its announcement.

When will the orals be?

Advanced level oral exams will start on June 5th and last until June 15th, and intermediate level oral exams will last from June 17th to July 3rd. The institutions will communicate the exact positions to the stakeholders.

What else do students need to know?

Nóra Misinszkiné Szőke, deputy director of Táncsics Mihály High School, told us that the exams start at 9 a.m. in the first week, but at 8 a.m. in the second week.

– Candidates must appear at least half an hour before the start of the exam. In addition to the writing instrument and other aids (ruler, four-digit function table, foreign language dictionary), the most important thing is that they have their identity card or other photo ID – Nóra Misinszkiné Szőke explained the details, adding that the advanced level graduation exam at the Táncsics high school in history, English it will be from language and biology.
