Would you like to get rid of your old, junk cell phone? Now you can do it in two dozen stores

--

A total of twenty-four Auchan stores accept old or unused mobile phones and electronic devices for recycling until May 22.

What happened? Auchan Hungary is once again joined by the Követ Association, the Jane Goodall Institute, the Protection Association and the Foundation for Africa Pass it back bro! for its mobile phone recycling campaign, the department store chain announced to Forbes.hu on the occasion of Earth Day.

Why is this important? Last year, according to the company, a total of 1,510 electronic devices were brought to them within the framework of the program. According to the store’s statement, this is also important because

obsolete mobile devices make up about two-thirds of all hazardous waste in the world, even though 17 types of metals can be recovered from them, including precious metals whose mining is not the least environmentally friendly.

What’s next? For one month, i.e. until May 22, all Auchan stores can drop off push-button or smart phones, tablets, other electronic devices, chargers, cables, or even batteries for recycling.
