In addition to celebrating daycare centers with the lightning strike, the institution also wants to draw attention to the importance of music education, because it is part of the lives of families and educational institutions. In the spirit of this attention-grabbing intention, the participants – more than 300 in total – gathered from different points of the square, then together they sang children’s and folk songs, songs related to the city of Debrecen, in the performance of which members of the Harmónia nursery school choir also assisted.

In Debrecen nurseries, they pay close attention to the fact that the children hear songs and nursery rhymes from the preschool teachers every day, and also to ensure that the new and new generations of professionals continuously pass on the knowledge that the current ones have regarding lap games and children’s songs. Their goal is for younger colleagues starting their careers to feel what it’s like to sing in a large community, what effect it has on emotions, because they have had fewer such experiences than members of previous generations.

At the end of the joint singing Priest Katalin Gyöngyösi, the head of the United City of Debrecen County Jurisdiction Institution, said that all 13 Debrecen municipality-maintained daycare workers – early childhood educators, nannies, kitchen aunts – are here. He thanked everyone for coming, for singing, and wished each institution a good celebration and successful programs on this otherwise non-educational day. On the occasion of Day of Nursery Schools, the United Nursery School Institute also organized a central ceremony on April 19 with the presentation of professional awards.

Wide Diana The deputy mayor of the city of Debrecen also thanked the participants for being here and celebrating together despite the overcast, cool weather and the drizzling rain. As he said, this attitude, despite all the difficulties, and worthy of all thanks, characterized the nursery workers during the coronavirus epidemic, since the parents of Debrecen could still count on them, they stood by the families of Debrecen even then. The city will never forget this stand. For Debrecen, as a caring city, it is very important that families feel that they can live happily here. And this would not be possible without the institutions serving young children and their employees, their excellent work and cohesive communities.

As a parent, Diána Széles experienced that the interests of the children are of primary importance to the nursery workers. Nurseries are only really filled with life through their staff – their attention to the children and their parents, their care, their songs. According to the deputy mayor, since in today’s digitized world, providing parents with good advice is at least as important as providing good advice to children, they must also be led to the importance of singing. Singing can “enchant” children, and they need this just as much as love. And the presence of love can be clearly felt in every nursery in Debrecen – thanks to the nursery workers.
