László Tüke, former deputy mayor of Fidesz, is running for the title of mayor this year.

It was Tüke who confirmed in a report in 2018 that, as a teacher at the local József Attila Elementary School, he hit a fifth-grade student in the head with a diary during a school conflict.

During the incident, Tüke was alerted to his class, where a conflict arose between a boy and a girl. According to the minutes, László Tüke rushed into the room, pushed a bench in front of the door, jumped on it, pulled out the school radio’s speaker, then started yelling at the children and hit one of them in the head with the diary.

The head of the local school district stated that “Teacher László Tüke did not resolve the conflict situation in the class in the manner expected of him. By hitting a child on the head with the diary, he violated his duties arising from his job to such an extent that it can also be the basis for his dismissal”. Tüke eventually received a written warning, and today he is the deputy director.
