MTI: The Hungarian Association of Tree Nurses will organize a tree climbing championship in accordance with international standards in Tata, on the shores of Öreg-tó between September 13 and 15, the president of the organization announced at his press conference on Monday.

Gábor Ócsvári said that the tree nurses who take care of and maintain the trees in the residential environment measure their strength in competitions developed from canopy maintenance with alpine techniques, in various climbing methods, as well as in throws and rescues.

During the exercises, the competitors work with equipment used for mountain climbing, rock climbing, and caving. Everyone brings their own equipment, which is checked by the judges for occupational safety before the competition.
The Hungarian association is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). The Hungarian tree-climbing championship is an accredited international competition, in which the winning contestants gain the right to participate in the European and World Championships – added Gábor Ócsvári.
