National Tree Planting Day begins: make Hungary the greenest country in Europe

--

The first action will take place on the first of March next year.

On April 22, 2024, Earth Day, the national community of 10 million trees will launch the National Tree Planting Day, to which they invite the entire country to join them, because as they say:

There is no left- and right-wing climate crisis, heat stroke, drought and desertification.

As people point out, we can only provide local answers to global problems. This is the answer, according to 10 million trees, to make Hungary the greenest country in Europe.

We don’t mess around anymore, we shake up the standing water thoroughly. We’re taking a really big step. And we invite the whole country to join us for this. If many of us Hungarians believe in it, we can jointly carry out such a great deed, which will be mentioned with appreciation and envy in the whole of Europe, but also beyond that, – writes 10 million Fa in its announcement.

Let’s prove that Hungary is the greenest country in Europe!

“Now, in 2024, on Earth Day, we are announcing an action day in which not only the existing volunteers and occasional helpers of 10 Million Trees, but all citizens can participate. We hope you will participate. The climate crisis, the ecological and biodiversity crisis affects all the inhabitants of the Earth, including Hungary. We can find a solution to the problem locally. Our goal is to make the solution as effective as possible. Let’s prove in one day: Hungary is the greenest country in Europe! Hungarians should plant as many trees as we can in one well-organized, organized day. This time, it is not the number of trees that are planted, but the number of people who participate that is important. That every Hungarian, if possible, once in his life, in coordination with us, should plant more, not necessarily more, just a single tree.”

10 million trees

10 million trees are waiting for all organizations, church communities, kindergartens, sports associations, companies, choirs and yoga

As they write:

In addition to participating civilians, all Hungarian organizations and organizations, institutions and companies can participate in the National Tree Planting Day. Schools, kindergartens, barracks, universities, companies, theaters, hospitals, sports and church communities, choirs, hiking groups, multi-company employees, yogis and birders, members of a wide variety of social or civic organizations.

The cause of maintaining the human habitat belongs to all of us. Once a year, we can achieve a huge result together with just a few hours of preparation. At once, we can increase Hungary’s forest cover on a massive scale, its green areas dominated by trees. We can make up for much of what our predecessors and we ourselves have written about the surface of Hungary since the beginning of the industrial revolution.

Next year, the first Saturday in March will be National Tree Planting Day

Starting this year, we designate the first Saturday of March as the National Tree Planting Day. For the first time, March 1, 2025. We, a foundation, are doing this because we need to ensure the botanical and ecological professionalism of the plantings, and that the event initiated with good intentions can preserve its original mission and cannot be appropriated for either party politics or business purposes.

“There is no left-wing and right-wing climate crisis”

The trunk of the tree is circular, with neither a right nor a left side. And in the same way, there is no left- and right-wing climate crisis, heatstroke, drought and desertification. We have noticed that planting has become a welcome trend in recent times: companies, media personalities, families celebrating birthdays, politicians, kindergarteners, civilians and many different organizations are planting trees. This is great! So let’s get together, coordinate our busy activities and focus on a single day, the National Tree Planting Day.
