The 30-year-old county civil guard closed a stable year

Stability and balance characterized the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Civil Guard Association – it was said at the civil guard association’s general meeting at the county hall in Szolnok. President Zoltán Szabó evaluated the association’s work over the past year, he said that since the founding of the county police association, he has been a member of the National Police Association (OPSZ) for 30 years, accepts its guidelines and actively participates in its programs.

– This year we will also keep in mind the main objectives of the OPSZ – emphasized the president of the association, who is also the professional vice-president of the National Civil Guard Association. In connection with these, Zoltán Szabó pointed out: the OPSZ declared that 2024 is the year of “Safety of outdoor areas and the detection of illegal waste disposal sites” and more than half of the civil guard associations working in the county immediately signed up for the program announced by the OPSZ and the Ministry of Energy. The president also reminded those present of the changes in the current Civil Guard Act and of assisting the police in the European Union and local government elections on June 9.

– This year, the National Civil Guard Day will be held in Tiszafüred, I am asking for the cooperation of the Civil Guard in the execution of the organizational tasks. It is important that, with the amendment of the law, voluntary civil guard support for police tasks related to illegal migration was included in our basic tasks in the protection of Hungary’s borders. It is important that we can appeal to young people and that as many young police officers as possible perform crime prevention services in the settlements – said Zoltán Szabó about the primary tasks.

Economist Éva Dávid presented the association’s 2023 public benefit report and financial report, and then presented the association’s draft budget and membership fee proposal for this year to the general assembly of delegates. The report of the supervisory board was presented by dr. Valéria Hanga, the chairman of the Supervisory Committee, explained that the operation and management of the county association proved to be legal in all respects in the past year. The chairman of the committee drew attention to the correction of minor deficiencies discovered during the inspection of the associations.

Dr. praised the past 30 years of the civil guards and the voluntary work they performed. County Chief Attila Berkó, thanking the self-sacrifice of the civil guards working in the county. Dr. Norbert Rádi, the head of the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Police Headquarters, highlighted in his comments that the police officers were able to show outstanding results in the field of traffic safety, above the national average, thanks to the traffic management around the schools, not a single child was involved in an accident in our county.

Dr. László Szigeti, the economic and financial vice president of the OPSZ, also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the work of the county civil guards. In his comment, he praised the work of the civil guards of our county, which is particularly good nationally.

After the recall, awards were presented

At the general assembly of the county civil guard, they also looked back into the past. József Kolozsi, the president of the Törökszentmiklós Civil Guard Association – who was also the president of the county association for twenty-five years – recalled the establishment 30 years ago, the difficulties and beautiful memories of that time and the continuous development of the civil guard and the achievements.

The assembly ended with awards. Gold, silver and bronze merit crosses donated by the president of the OPSZ, as well as recognitions from the police, Magyar Posta Zrt., and the county association were presented to the deserving civil guards, thanking them for their voluntary, self-sacrificing work.
