According to police.hu, the middle-aged man was walking home on the outskirts of Kiskunhalas on October 29 last year, when some dogs ran out of one of the farms and barked at him. The man loudly scolded the animals, and their owner, with a stick in hand, came out onto the vineyard road to herd the four-legged animals back onto the property.

An altercation arose between the two people, and in the heat of the dispute, the later suspect pushed his 51-year-old victim backwards, took the cane from him, and first hit him with it, then kicked him. After a short time, a woman rushed to the victim’s aid and took the device from the abuser.

The victim tried to recover from the beating at home, but was later hospitalized because he developed a traumatic pneumothorax and several ribs were broken. The investigators produced and interrogated the resident of Kiskunhalas suspected of committing the crime, who admitted to the abuse. The man, who is defending himself at large, is suspected of the crime of bodily harm causing danger to life. The investigation in his case has been completed; charges are recommended against him, so the documents were handed over to the county prosecutor’s office.
